Teen Book Club Brings Readers Together

Middle and high school students find fun, friends and share the love of reading at the Teen Book Club, Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Sierra Madre Public Library.

Anyone in grade 7 or above can join and receive free paperback books, eat snacks, play board games, and make friends every Wednesday throughout the school year.

Oktoberfest Golf and Tennis Tournament Winners 2012

On Saturday, October 20, 2012 the City of Sierra Madre hosted the Oktoberfest Golf and Tennis Tournament which benefited Sierra Madre Community Service programs. Although the wet weather made playing conditions less than ideal for tennis and golf players, everyone still had a fun time!

The posters, part of the Sierra Madre Public Library’s Read campaign, convey the simple but potent message: READ.

2012 Halloween Window Painting Contest Winners

The 2012 Halloween Window Painting Contest took place this past weekend on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27. 30 teams competed in 4 different age groups with 90 youth participating this year! Awards were given to the top three finishers in each age category.

Halloween Happenings Event Information, 10-23-2012

The Community Services Department is hosting its annual Halloween Happenings on Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Halloween Happenings’ activities include the downtown trick-o-treating sponsored by the Sierra Madre Chamber of Commerce, as well as the costume parade and costume contest, supported by the Sierra Madre Kiwanis Club.
