Public Hearings for Sierra Madre Solar Project

In late 2015, the Sierra Madre City Council passed Resolution No. 15-79, authorizing the City to apply for energy efficiency financing to install photovoltaic arrays at City Hall’s rear parking lot, and locations within the City Yards and Sierra Vista Park.  The installation of the solar equipment will lower energy costs for the city while providing clean energy to power day-to-day operations at City Hall and also contribute to water distribution energy demands.

The City has been working with Conner Energy to complete feasibility and environmental studies, and has launched a 30-day public review period ending March 2, 2017.  This item will appear before the City’s Planning Commission on Thursday, March 16, 2017 and is also scheduled to appear before the City Council on Tuesday, March 28, 2017.  Both meetings will be held in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.

All interested persons may attend these meetings and the Planning Commission and/or City Council will hear them with respect thereto.  Anyone interested in the matter is invited to comment on the environmental documentation by written response during the public review period or by personal appearance at the public hearings.

Project documents are available at City Hall, 232 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., and the Public Library, 440 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.
