Community Services

The Community Services Department is entrusted to "Create A Healthy Community Through People, Parks and Programs" and consists of three full-time employees and part-time employees. Additionally, the Department utilizes the services of contract instructors for special interest classes and benefits from the numerous hours that many volunteers donate to the Department.

4th of July Celebration Donation Letter 2013

Preparations have begun! The Volunteers of the Sierra Madre 4th of July Committee are busily working on the 2013 celebration, and they need your help! The Committee is searching for sponsors to help make the magic happen and the "fireworks" pop. Think if just every family who loves the 4th donated $20 how much money would be raised!

Huck Finn 2013 Winners

The City of Sierra Madre Huck Finn Fishing Derby was held this past Saturday, April 6, 2013. This year 215 youth ages 3-15 participated in the Huck Finn Fishing Derby with many parents, family and friends in attendance as well.

Mount Wilson Trail Race - Activities for All

The 2013 Mount Wilson Trail marks the 105th anniversary of the 2nd oldest trail race in California! The sold-out race takes off Saturday, May 25 at 7:30 am. If you are not running the race there is still plenty to enjoy in Kersting Court including vendor booths, the Beer Garden, MWTR souvenirs and the Kids’ Fun Run.

Family Movie Fridays 2013

The Family Movie Friday series is back for 2013 thanks to the generous support of the Sierra Madre Issei Memorial Foundation, Sierra Madre Volunteer Firefighters Associations, and Mother Moo Creamery! Also, a special thank you to Sierra Madre Kiwanis Club for their donation towards a new movie screen.

4th of July Parade Registration Now Open 2013

4th of July Parade



Parade participation is open to all; young, young-at-heart, and everything in between. There is NO FEE to participate in the parade this year thanks to donations from the community. If you are interested in participating in the 4th of July parade, please submit applications online at www.sierramadre4thofjuly.com. Parade registration opens Wednesday, May 15th and all applications must be submitted by Saturday, June 10th. Due to staging concerns; no late entries are accepted.
