The Community Services Department is entrusted to "Create A Healthy Community Through People, Parks and Programs" and consists of three full-time employees and part-time employees. Additionally, the Department utilizes the services of contract instructors for special interest classes and benefits from the numerous hours that many volunteers donate to the Department.

The City of Sierra Madre Huck Finn Fishing Derby was held this past Saturday, March 29, 2014. This year 247 youth ages 3-15 participated in the Huck Finn Fishing Derby with many parents, family and friends in attendance as well.

Registration for the Mount Wilson Trail Race is fast approaching and the sign up process has changed slightly this year. For 2014 the first 100 spaces for the race will be made available to Sierra Madre residents only, leaving 200 spaces available for open registration.
