Community Yard Sale A Success!
The City of Sierra Madre Huck Finn Fishing Derby was held this past Saturday, April 6, 2013. This year 215 youth ages 3-15 participated in the Huck Finn Fishing Derby with many parents, family and friends in attendance as well.
The Volunteer Sierra Madre 4th of July Committee is seeking nominations for the 2013 4th of July Parade Grand Marshal. The Parade will be held as always the morning of July 4th.
Kids’ Fun Run
Join the Sierra Madre Community Foundation and CATZ Sports for the 2013 Mount Wilson Trail Race Kids’ Fun Run. The Kid’s Fun Run is an absolutely free event for youth ages 3-12 years of age.
The Mount Wilson Trail Race is a historic community event in Sierra Madre and is celebrating it’s 105th anniversary and 47th running in 2013. Eight years ago a Kids’ Fun Run was added to the event with great success with each year exceeding the previous.
The 2013 Mount Wilson Trail marks the 105th anniversary of the 2nd oldest trail race in California! The sold-out race takes off Saturday, May 25 at 7:30 am. If you are not running the race there is still plenty to enjoy in Kersting Court including vendor booths, the Beer Garden, MWTR souvenirs and the Kids’ Fun Run.
A winner has been selected in the Mount Wilson Trail Race Kid’s Fun Run T-shirt Design Contest. The winning artwork is titled “Kid’s Run” and was submitted by Sierra Madre Elementary School student Christine Manoukian. Christine’s artwork will be featured on the back of the MWTR Kid’s Fun Run T-shirt. She will be recognized for her accomplishment on Saturday, May 25th at the Mount Wilson Trail Race prior to the Kids’ Fun Run.
Interested in pre-ordering a Mount Wilson Trail Race fleece jacket or vest? Choose your own size, cut, and color. These two items are only available via pre-order and will NOT be sold on race day. Fleece jackets are $45.00, and fleece vests are $35.00. Order forms and payment must be received by Monday, May 6th. No late orders accepted.
