Children of all ages are invited to a special birthday party in honor of Dr. Seuss on his birthday, Saturday, March 2 at 3:00 p.m. at the Sierra Madre Public Library. Party participants will be treated to a very special Story time in honor of the famous author. All are invited to create party hats and paper birthday cake crafts and listen to some of Seuss’s most popular stories.
Teen Book Club Brings Readers Together. Middle and high school students find fun, friends and share the love of reading at the Teen Book Club, Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Sierra Madre Public Library.
Anyone in grade 7 or above can join and receive free paperback books, eat snacks, play board games, and make friends every Wednesday throughout the school year. The next session will start on September 17, 2014.
Local children created mini rose floats at a special storytime on Christmas Eve day at the Sierra Madre Public Library. Sierra Madre Rose Float Association head Bob Young brought pieces of foam left over from making Sierra Madre’s entry into this year’s Tournament of Roses Parade and local children used them as them as the bases for their own beautiful floats. Afterwards, the children towed their floats in a parade throughout the Library.

Unbroken: a World War II airman's story of survival, resilience, and redemption, by Laura Hillenbrand, has been chosen as the City of Sierra Madre 2013 One Book One City selection by the Sierra Madre Public Library.
Creativity and fun are in store when children gather at the Sierra Madre Public Library to create mini rose floats on Monday, December 24, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Children of all ages are welcome to storytime for stories, songs, play and, of course, rose float making. Sierra Madre Rose Float Association Bob Young will be our special guest.
Children ages 4-12 are invited to sign up for the In-N-Out program on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Sierra Madre Public Library. Children read books and earn coupons for free hamburgers. The program runs through Saturday, November 17, 2012.
