The Government Compensation in California website from the State Controller’s Office provides access to the salary, pension benefits and other compensation for more than 594,000 city and county employees throughout California, including the City of Sierra Madre.
The reporting website contains information for all public positions, including elected officials, full-time staff, part-time staff, seasonal staff, and volunteers (who receive any stipends). Because Sierra Madre has a number of volunteers who receive stipends (Volunteer Fire Department and Reserve Police Officers), in addition to elected officials, full-time staff, part-time staff, and seasonal staff; the current report for Sierra Madre for Calendar Year 2009, lists a total of 264 “employees”. For clarification, the City does not have 264 full-time employees. The breakdown of the 264 “employees” is as follows:
