Third Thursday Book Club-One Book One City Discussion

Download as iCal file
Thursday, February 16, 2012, 11:00am - 12:00pm

A Book Club for Adults

An informal roundtable discussion of a selected book takes place at the Library on the third Thursday of each month (except December) from 11 a.m. to noon. Directed by Library staff. A list of the selections is available at the Library Service Desk and can be viewed by clicking on the link below.

On Thursday, February 16, 2012, the club will discuss Sierra Madre’s 2012 One Book One City selection, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. These classic “who-dunnit” stories by Conan Doyle, who is widely regarded as a pioneer of the Mystery genre, introduced Sherlock Holmes, an unusually cerebral, shrewd and brilliant detective, and his well-meaning assistant Dr. Watson, who, respectively, became the most beloved sleuth and “sidekick” in literary history.

The club meets every third Thursday of the month at 11:00 a.m. in the Library Reference Room. A schedule of upcoming selections is available at the Library Service Desk and on the website: www.sierramadre.lib.ca.us. Funded by the Friends.
