The following outlines the procedure for the filing of a Special
Event Permit (Temporary Use Permit). Please refer to the City fee schedule and submit a check made payable to the City
of Sierra Madre. Fill out the Special Event Application form and return it to the
Development Services Department with any necessary attachments. Should

The application process:
- Completed Special Event Application turned into the City of Sierra Madre Development Services Department.
- Reviewed
by the Development Services Department, Sierra Madre Fire Prevention
Bureau, Sierra Madre Police Department, City Attorney and City
Administration.
- Following that review of the application,
attachments, and payment of fees the Development Services Director may
approve event requests that do not require a closure of a City street.
- The
Development Services Director will prepare a staff report for the
Sierra Madre City Council for final approval of any event that requires
a closure of a City street. If approved, the Temporary Use Permit will
be granted and a copy of the permit sent to the applicant. Providing
all conditions of approval have been met.
- Your request must
be submitted to City staff for review by the City Council two weeks
prior to the scheduled City Council meeting. The City Council meets at
6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 232 W. Sierra Madre
Blvd. the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each month.
- Also please
be aware your organization will be required to follow the standard
conditions of approval for any City of Sierra Madre Temporary Use
Permit, which include:
- All activities, programs or events taking place during the event must comply will all City Policies and the Municipal Code. - The applicant shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Sierra Madre Building and Safety and Fire codes. - The City of Sierra Madre is not responsible for any items displayed in the area should they be lost or stolen.
- Insurance Coverage (from a California admitted carrier with a Best's
rating of 8 or higher) be submitted to the City as an additional
insured, prior to the effective date of this permit.
