Senior Services

The City of Sierra Madre is very excited to announce that the long awaited Hart Park House Senior Center Renovation broke ground July 25th. During this six month project, the Hart Park House Senior Center is closed, but the senior programs & services will continue at the Community Recreation Center, 611 E. Sierra Madre Blvd. This includes the daily Senior Lunch Café (lunch is served at 12 noon) and weekly activities like Bingo, exercise, blood pressure screenings and game day. The Saturday Senior Club is now meeting at the Sierra Vista Senior Apartments at 70 Esperanza Ave. - meetings start at 11:30 am.

At the Senior Center, city residents can receive fellowship, services, and activities which enhance their involvement in and with the community. Daily lunches are served at the center. Recreational opportunities include arts, computer education, gardening, physical fitness activities, health screenings, and educational opportunities. Special luncheons, and entertainment are part of the program, and day trips, tours, are also coordinated for senior citizen participation. The center offers workshops and meetings to discuss a number of issues pertinent to seniors in our community. The Social Services component addresses senior benefits, insurance, housing, financial and legal matters, employment, health care, to name a few. Transportation to the center can be arranged for a senior who needs assistance. Call Susan Clifton, Recreation Coordinator for the Senior Center, at 626-355-7394 if you have questions.
